Please pass your cover letter and CV to Donna Levy, email@example.com`s staff manager. Please include the JOB HR0384 IDENTIFICATION number and your name in the subject line. Local and Union Our union is the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) and we at the YWCA form our own local, Local 2189. The policy of our local authorities is defined by our own members and our executive is elected from our membership. The proposals we are negotiating for our contract with management are proposals that our members want and we elect a negotiating team among us to negotiate the treaty. A CUPE staff representative works in consultation with our local as a resource person. Objective The union was established in 1975 at the YWCA in Toronto to represent the interests of workers. The union negotiates with management wages and benefits as well as the protection of workers, guaranteed by clear internal regulations. This is presented in a binding collective agreement. Contract The place negotiates the collective agreement with management.
It is the legal contract that governs the relationship between employees of the collective agreement unit and YWCA management. The collective agreement includes aspects of work at YWCA such as: salary, benefits, overtime, redundancy, sick leave, leave and appeal procedures. Steward The steward is the person in any place who represents union members at that particular location. A steward helps employees interpret a contract, answers questions about the union, attends a complaint hearing and provides general information about what is happening in the area. Recourse Procedure This is a formal method of resolving difficulties or conflicts between union members and executives or between the union and management. The contract outlines a procedure to be followed in these cases and this procedure provides protection for workers. NO options for constructive feedback within the organization. The staff are friendly, it has the potential to be a great job, the benefits are a decent work environment rehabilitated.
It is not profit-oriented, so, for budgetary reasons, you engage in many projects that improve the learning experience. They really support the reconciliation of work and private life with the amount of vacation credits available to employees. The benefits are surprisingly great.
